About SEI

John W Sodon (Jack) organized the company in October of 1947, after serving with the US Navy. In 1954, Jack brought his brother into the company as a partner, The first office was located in Navesink and later relocated to our present location in Atlantic Highlands.

Over the years, the company has grown from a large residential contractor to where we are today as one of the leading Electrical Contractors in the residential and commercial market - specializing in private, commercial, public, and health care projects. We pride ourselves with being a family business surrounding ourselves with quality and dedicated employees.

Tim started working in the summer of 1976 for the company. Worked in the field as an apprentice for a few years, then as an electrician. In the mid 80s he moved into the office as Lead Estimator and became a partner in 1985. His entire career has been with this firm.

Jennifer joined the Sodon's Electric team in 2019, after 6 years in the accounting department with a national big box retailer. She has quickly adapted to the change of industry, and continues to be an integral part of the success of Sodon's Electric.

Tim was working in the field as an electrician when he was offered an Estimating position here in September 2017. Since then, he became one of our top estimators and was promoted to Senior Project Manager in June 2022. Currently he leads our PM team and still finds time to estimate projects.

Darin has been with SEI since June of 1997 and has worked his way up to Lead Estimator. His experience in the field has merged with years of experience estimating and he is very well known in the industry.

Hugh joined the SEI team in 2024 to coordinate the estimating & bidding processes, and to increase his exposure to the industry. Hugh is also an apprentice in the estimating department, and looking forward to his continued career growth.

Nancy joined SEI in 2018 as a Contract Administrator. Nancy's role is to prepare, negotiate and review company contracts while working closely with the Project Management and Estimating team to ensure fulfillment of the full contract process. In her free time, Nancy enjoys reading, traveling and spending time with her husband, Steve, and two sons - Thomas and Matthew.

Dottie Joined SEI in June 2012 and she prepares, negotiates and reviews company contracts while working closely with the Project Management and Estimating team to ensure fulfillment of the full contract process. Dottie also renews our certifications as needed.

Joined the team in 2021. Enthusiastic and professional. Experienced administrative assistant with training in a wide range of tasks. Assisting in both the service and estimating departments.

Russ joined SEI in February 2021 after decades of electrical experience in the residential market. Russ leads our Residential Service team and through his dedication and hard work we have seen our business grow and improve.

Diana joined the SEI team in 2024 with experience in many different markets & is also a local small business owner. Diana's main focus is to assist with day to day accounting functions, payroll and recordkeeping.

Kevin joined SEI in July 2004 and worked in the field for two years before accepting an offer to run our warehouse on site. Kevin manages our day to day ordering, job start up, job cleanup, materials from warehouse to site, tool management, tool repair, fleet management, and overall organization and staging and delivery of our large package orders.

Anthony joined SEI in April 2022 and he supports our field team as an Assistant PM. Prior to SEI - Anthony worked in the field and is currently studying to get his electrical license.

John has been with SEI since he was an electrical apprentice in 1994. John rose through the ranks working as a Journeyman and Foreman on numerous projects with us and was an integral part of our success. Recently, he has agreed to work as a Road Supervisor for us - assisting us in managing safety, execution and over success of projects.
